New Zond-12e Advanced GPR

Recently we have finished development of Zond-12e Advanced GPR.

This improved version of Zond-12e GPR has:

1. Dual-channel mode.

2. Selectable samples rate (128 / 256 / 512 / 1024). Accordingly scan rate changes as 320 / 160 / 80 / 40 scans per second.

3. Build-in battery

4. Build-in WiFi access point for wireless communication.

5. Bidirectional survey wheel.

SCAN RATE: 56 (for single channel system), 80 (for double channel system), selectable 320 / 160 / 80 / 40 (for advanced system) scans per second.

Zond-12e georadar is a portable digital subsurface sounding radar carried by a single operator. The unit is designed for solving a broad range of geotechnical, geological, environmental, engineering and other tasks wherever nondestructive operational environmental monitoring is needed. In the sounding process, the operator is getting real-time information as a radiolocation profile (sometimes also referred to as radargram) on a display. At the same time, data are recorded on a hard disc for further use (processing, printout, interpretation, etc.). Examples of radiolocation profiles you can see here:

Complete georadar set includes a central unit with a Notebook-type computer* mounted on a special adjustable platform, a set of antennas for various sounding frequencies, software, various accessories:

Antennas are made dust/sprayproof and may be even immersed in water for a short time. Surface antennas have vinilplastic substrates with extremely high abrasion resistance.

All georadar parameters are computer controlled, therefore many hardware operation features are described here:

Use of a specific antenna is determined by a sounding task. Higher sounding frequency means better resolution, but with more significant electromagnetic wave attenuation in the environment, resulting in lower sounding depth; and vice versa - lower frequency may lead to a larger penetration depth at the sacrifice of poorer resolution. Moreover, lower frequency produces larger initial insensitivity area ("blind" zone) of a georadar.

* As a rule, a Notebook-type computer is not included in a standard supply. Users may use their own computers for cost saving purposes.

Report on Zond-12e GPR system Evaluation on LCPC test sites:

Tests of the georadar “Zond-12e” has been carried out at invitation of the Central Bridges and Roads Laboratory (LCPC) of France at their test site near Nantes Town. All experiments have been made according to the specification drawn up by LCPC and presented in Appendix 1. On the main test site and the road test site the geordar and the antennas have been moved along profiles by one operator,in investigation of walls two operators have participated in experiments.
